The innovation is the way the craft is controlled by the pilot and the modification to the motorcycle handlebar which enables this control method. The actual flight mechanics are standard fixed-wing technology shared by most aircraft.

This concept is pending patent protection (60/733,195 11/4/2005), titled “A Method of Control of a Vehicle, a Means for Control Connection, and a Vehicle Control Device Which is Convertible from Two-Dimensional Operation to Three-Dimensional Operation and Back.”
The control method incorporates the pilot inputs into one handlebar instead of using rudder pedals. This allows the motorcycle to be incorporated into the craft without an expensive fuselage or cockpit.

The conventional motorcycle handlebar is still used. But now, instead of being rigidly attached to the top of the front fork, it can be allowed to move up/down and tilt and it still rotates for steering the motorcycle.
